Diane K. Diehn, ND, CCT
Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine
Certified Clinical Thermologist
Dr. Diehn is the Founder, President and Medical Director of Integrative Medical Specialists, LLC, in Olathe, Kansas, where she also practices as a licensed Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine (ND). Dr. Diehn is trained in alternative medicine including Naturopathic Medicine, Physical Medicine, Environmental Medicine, Functional Medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture, Homeopathy, Botanical Medicine, Anthroposophical Medicine, Biological Dentistry, Medicinal Balneotherapy, Thermography, Enzyme Therapy, Lifestyle Medicine, Natural Hormone Balancing and traditional Western Medicine. She combines all these types of medicines and therapies to assist her in understanding the symptoms that are being expressed by the body before implementing a treatment plan. Dr. Diehn utilizes Clinical Nutrition, Lab Assessment and Evaluation, Thermography, Lifestyle Screening, Diet Modification, Stress Reduction Techniques and Therapies, Exercise Recommendations, Homeopathy, Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, Detoxification Therapies, and Emotional Counseling to help her patients achieve wellness. Her ultimate goal is to promote health and well being, alleviate chronic illness patterns, as well as correct immune dysfunction in chronic disease states. Her passion lies in finding the underlying cause of a health issue, correcting the dysfunction, then bringing the body back into balance.
Dr. Diehn has studied European Medicine and completed the International Postgraduate Medical Training in Anthroposophic Medicine (IPMT/PAAM). Anthroposophic medicine views health as a balance of the mind-body-spirit. Whereas conventional medicine focuses on “fixing” the part of the physical body that is “broken,” anthroposophic medicine prescribes treatment for the whole being.
She studied with the Hippocrates Health Institute in Florida and teaches their philosophy of a pure enzyme-rich diet, complemented by positive thinking and non-invasive therapies, as essential elements on the path to optimum health.
She trained in the Huggins System of Biological Dentistry, and the Marshall-Aguilera Dental Protocols. To assist her patients, Dr. Diehn has aligned with dentists trained in biocompatible dentistry that practice these protocols. She educates her patients to practice nontoxic dentistry and to make the right dental choice using healthy, biocompatible dental materials rather than toxic dental materials that could cause a problem with their health.
She trained in a kinesiology based system of testing the bio-energetic status of the body’s key organs and glands utilizing medically accepted reflex points. She utilizes this technique to pinpoint problem areas and determine the precise nutrients and the exact amounts needed to rapidly restore the cellular resonance for that area. She provides a full line of nutritional, body care and lifestyle products that work synergistically to help each person achieve and maintain great health. These products provide broad-spectrum and living nutrients, no toxic tag-alongs or excipients, with 100% vegetable capsules.
Dr. Diehn trained in Clinical Thermography with Dr. Amalu and the International Association of Clinical Thermology (IACT). In 2009, she introduced this medical infrared imaging technology into her practice. With this technology, she is able to obtain early detection of abnormal breast tissue that assists her in formulating treatment plans to help prevent breast cancers. With thermography, she can monitor the effectiveness of changes in lifestyle, diet and nutrition therapies, and hormone regulation without damaging radiation exposure. Dr. Diehn also uses thermography to obtain whole body diagnostics with hyperthermia patterns that are helpful in confirming and detecting potential problem areas in other parts of the body.
Dr. Diehn completed her training as a Loomis Digestive Health Specialist with the Loomis Institute. She has incorporated this system into her practice to help determine the hidden causes of patient symptoms, particularly in unresolved health problems. This is based on the work of Dr. Howard F. Loomis, Jr. It is backed by many years of clinical experience and the theoretical food enzyme work of Edward Howell, MD. Dr. Diehn utilizes 24-hour urine testing and reflex diagnostic testing to assess the digestive function of her patients, along with specific enzyme formulations indicated to promote healing.
Dr. Diehn completed her plant based nutrition studies with Dr. T. Colin Campbell, author of The China Study. This study was one of the most comprehensive nutrition studies ever conducted indicating a connection between diet and chronic diseases.
She studied with Dr. John McDougal, Dr. Joel Furhman, Dr. Dean Ornish, and Dr. Caldwell Esseltyn to further understand the dynamics of reversing heart disease and chronic disease states with a plant based diet.
She completed training with Dr. Hans Diehl and the Coronary Heart Improvement Project (CHIP) and is a CHIP Facilitator for the Kansas City area. This program has now been renamed the Complete Health Improvement Program (CHIP). The program teaches lifestyle enrichment programs that are designed to reduce risk factors for disease by improving dietary choices, enhancing daily exercise, decreasing stress, and preventing and reversing disease. CHIP is based on the fact that 75% or more of our Western diseases are “lifestyle-related,” according to the U.S. Surgeon General. These diseases are connected to our processed diets; our lack of exercise; our overuse of cigarettes, alcohol, and caffeine; our increased levels of stress; and the quality of our family support systems.
Dr. Diehn became a member of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine and began teaching Lifestyle Medicine. She teaches the CHIP philosophy to her patients recommending better dietary choices, enhancing daily exercise, decreasing stress, and assisting in the prevention and reversal of chronic disease patterns through the adoption of better health habits and appropriate lifestyle modifications.
In 2012, Dr. Diehn started Midwest Thermography, LLC., after completing her training with Dr. George Chapman, “the Father of Thermography.” She finished her studies and received her designation as a Certified Clinical Thermologist. In 2017, she completed additional training with expert in the medical thermography field, Dr. Robert Kane. Dr. Kane is known as the “Voice of Thermography” and brings over 20 years of experience to the field. Integrative Medical Specialists partners with Midwest Thermography where Dr. Diehn monitors patient’s progress through thermographic imaging comparison studies to further prevent and reverse hormone related imbalances that can create chronic disease.
