Dr. Diane Diehn is the Founder, President and Medical Director of Integrative Medical Specialists, LLC, in Olathe, Kansas.

Dr Diehn’s interest in health and nutrition began in her early twenties following the loss of her father to cancer. His illness and passing had a profound impact on her life and inspired a lifelong interest in understanding health and the many factors that influence it. Over the next two decades, she immersed herself in the study of nutrition, food, and natural approaches to health. The knowledge and experience she gained during those years laid the foundation for the healthcare career that would follow.

At age 40, Dr. Diehn chose to formalize that lifelong interest by enrolling at Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine and Health Sciences (now Sonoran University of Health Sciences), where she completed her medical training as a Naturopathic Doctor. Following graduation, Dr. Diehn obtained licensure as a Naturopathic Doctor in Kansas. In 2004, she established Integrative Medical Specialists with a commitment to helping patients better understand their health and the many factors that influence it. The practice provided an opportunity to apply the knowledge and experience she had gained through years of study, education and personal experience.

Since then, Dr. Diehn has helped thousands of patient throughout Kansas, Missouri, the greater Kansas City metropolitan area, and beyond.

A Lifelong Commitment to Learning

As a Licensed Naturopathic Doctor in Kansas, Dr. Diehn completed accredited medical training and licensing requirements that provide the foundation for her Functional Medicine and Integrative Medicine approach. Her medical education included comprehensive training in Clinical Nutrition, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture, Homeopathy, Botanical Medicine, Lifestyle Medicine, Laboratory Assessment, Physical Medicine, and other aspects of Naturopathic Medical Care that continue to play an important role in her practice today.

While many practitioners pursue Functional Medicine through post-graduate certificate programs, Functional Medicine principals have been incorporated throughout Dr. Diehn’s Naturopathic Medical Education, Clinical Training, and more than 20 Years of Patient Care Experience.

Over the years, her search for answers has led her to pursue advanced education in Functional Medicine, Integrative Medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Clinical Nutrition, Homeopathy, Biological Medicine, Biological Dentistry, Anthroposophical Medicine, Clinical Thermography, Lifestyle Medicine, Environmental Medicine, Hormone Health, and other specialized areas of healthcare. She continues that commitment today by completing more than 50 hours of Continuing Medical Education annually.

Throughout her career, Dr. Diehn has continually pursued opportunities to expand her knowledge and better serve her patients. This breadth of knowledge allows her to evaluate health concerns from multiple angles while considering the whole person rather than focusing on a single symptom or diagnosis.

She recognizes that health is influenced by more than laboratory values and physical symptoms alone and often encourages patients to consider how lifestyle, stress, emotional well-being, relationships, and life experiences may influence overall health.

Experience, Expertise, and Personalized Care

Dr. Diehn maintains a family practice and cares for patients with a wide range of health concerns. Some patients seek her care for complex or chronic health challenges, while others are looking for guidance on improving their health and making informed choices to support healthy aging.

She believes people have the potential to remain active, engaged, and independent well into their later years and that many of the choices we make throughout life can influence how well we age. Helping patients better understand those choices is one of the most rewarding aspects of her work.

Having supported loved ones through serious illness, aging, and end-of-life care, Dr. Diehn understands many of the emotional and practical challenges that patients and families face during difficult times. As a wife, mother, grandmother, doctor, and business owner, she appreciates that health concerns affect more than just the individual. Those experiences have given her a deeper appreciation for the challenges patients and families often face throughout the many transitions of life.
